Akshardham Metro Station

Choreographing three types of movement patterns, temple-goers, tourists, visitors to the games village and residents of the dense residential settlements along the Yamuna

It is the tallest Metro station within the Delhi metro system in proximity to the Akshardham temple at Laxmi Nagar. The design incorporates aesthetics with an efficient and robust structure forming an imageable node of the metro corridor. Having six levels and standing 16.5 meters above the ground and 21 meters from the basement, the external facade of the built-form is kept modest to reflect the temple architecture. The use of dholpur stone and designed inset advertisement spaces gives a soothing appeal to the facade of the metro station.
