Railway Station Redevelopment

Promoting the concept of a ‘livable street’, The redevelopment strategy lays emphasis on the street culture

The redevelopment strategy lays emphasis on the street culture with a livable street concept connecting land parcel 12 to land parcel 7, which covers a length of about 2.5km. The plan includes the incorporation of a defined central axis in order to minimize the ingress and egress route length. A separate foot over bridge and air concourse area helps in segregating the movement of the arriving and departing passengers, thereby connecting both sides of the station complex. After the planned redevelopment, the Ludhiana railway station envisions changing the perception and behavior of the users by creating value through good urban design and a well-designed station complex, which would act as a mini smart city.
