Nature that Heals – A Naturally Inspired Design for the Healthcare Experience

The Ministry of AYUSH aspires to set up the National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA) at Panchkula, Haryana comprising a 250-bedded hospital, academic building & other associated buildings. The National Institute of Ayurveda is being directed towards being an Apex Institution for Ayurvedic practices and advancement of this alternate medicine. The site layout has been conceptualized intricately to provide both for the built spaces as well as open spaces. The hospital building is located near the site entrance for direct and easy access, only leaving some green spaces in front for a pleasant introduction to the complex. The college building is connected to the hospital at all levels supporting easy mobilization between the two important spaces. Being an Ayurvedic hospital complex, one central green space is created which would cater to both patients and students. Providing for the open spaces required for natural treatments for patients & herbal gardens for cultivating the herbs used in treatment and manufacturing of medicines in the institute.
